My MIL(and favorite author) had the creative idea to spray paint some pine cones silver. She was also wonderful enough to spray paint some extras for me. (Thank you!) Aren't they pretty? So I didn't even have to gather nor spray paint the pine cones. They look a bit more Christmasey than Thanksgivingey, but I like their simple elegance.
I had purchased the silver charger plate a few weeks ago at Old Time Pottery for $1. The frosted glass candle holder I bought at IKEA for around $3 or $4. I almost forgot I had it because I had yet to use it anywhere! I placed the silver platter on a piece of fall patterned scrapbook paper. Around the centerpiece I sprinkled a few scrapbooking die cut felt and paper leaves that I had on hand. I also added a couple more candles with votive holders I found on clearance this summer from World Market.
I didn't have another tablecloth, so I just used a white sheer curtain I had tucked in the closet. It's a bit wrinkled(ok a lot wrinkled), but I literally threw this whole setup together in about 2 minutes.
Here's the whole table with the wrinkled "tablecloth", the napkin rings I made, and the Martha Stewart favor cones. I had to dismantle the whole set up after some photo taking to keep the cats from eating the pinecones or playing with the die cut leaves before Thursday.
