Like a Fairytale

We are heading up to visit Galena, Illinois soon. It is a charming town with a large historic district packed with fun shops and restaurants and I've wanted to go there for a few years. Can the downtown get anymore picture perfect?

But there is a Bed and Breakfast there that looks really charming. While our budget does not allow us to stay there since rooms are around $275 a night, I just love looking at the rooms and photos of the Goldmoor Inn. While America is lacking in the ancient history and lore of the great castles of Europe, this is a great modern example of a fairytale castle complete with turrets.

They have rooms in the inn or cabins available overlooking the river. So maybe someday we will get to stay there, but for now I just like to look at the beautiful rooms. (Sorry the photos are so small, they are taken from the Goldmoor's website.)
